 Requirements:


  • US Citizenship
  • US Secret Security Clearance
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (or Master's) in engineering (systems or safety)
  • Experience: 0-3 years in relevant field
  • Basic knowledge of safety principles, regulations, and practices including experience carrying out hazard mitigation techniques as well as conducting risk analysis on weapons systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products 
  • Experience with application of system safety policies within programs using agile software development, Model Based System Engineering and/or Air and Missile Defense systems is a plus 
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence or MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw) a plus 
  • Travel: 25%


Position Description:


The candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of safety programs by working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards throughout the system lifecycle. This role requires direct application of MIL-STD-882E principles to assist in conducting and documenting a variety of hazard analyses, to include developing and tracking mitigation measures according to the system safety design order of precedence. Development of safety documentation including Safety Assessment Reports, risk assessments, and safety incident root cause analysis required to functionally support the safety of product portfolio.

  • Master's Degree in Systems Engineering highly desired
  • Experience: 3-10 years in relevant field
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products 
  • Proficient in MagicDraw 
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interface with various levels of workers/leaders
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Previous experience with the Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems, such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), Patriot, FAAD C2, and ADAM is a plus
  • Previous experience with the integration of Command and Control Systems in a System of Systems architecture is a plus


Position Description:


We are looking for a THAAD system focused Software Systems Engineer to join our team to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office, Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office. The candidate in this role will work with contractors, US military, government civilians and system operators to support mission-critical ITI software development by translating Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs) into actionable Program Engineering Documents (PEDs), ensuring the resulting software-level solution is clearly defined, directly traceable to initial requirements, and technically executable. This role requires close coordination between system architects, solutions systems engineers, software developers, and integration teams to deliver a cohesive and effective solution that meets operational needs.


Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Working as a member of the Software Systems Engineering team to develop program-level features utilizing a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach that describe MEI and CSCI behavior, performance and acceptance criteria necessary to guide software implementation, utilizing Jira and Confluence to document tasks/issues within an Agile workflow
  • Assembling artifacts and other information into Program Engineering Documents (PEDs)
  • Facilitating/Leading both Internal and Formal Reviews of assigned features as well as adjudication/resolution of comments made against features
  • Participating in regularly scheduled team stand-ups as well as Team Planning, Retrospectives, and Prioritization
  • Other duties as assigned
